Special needs Dandie

Allie, an older
female, was owner released to a Kansas City Pound,
a kill facility.
She was very ill, skinny, coat matted, obviously
had not been taken care of at all. Because of
her condition and age her chances of being placed
were extremely slim.
She was lucky
though, a rescuer found her in the pound,
became her guardian angel, adopted her and gave
her all the veterinary care and love she so
desperately needed.
She responded very
well and is now a little girl who
loves to play with other dogs - but more than that,
she loves to cuddle.
Unfortunately she
has one lingering problem. Allie is a diabetic who
will require daily insulin shots for the rest of
her life. The diabetes has affected her eyesight,
but she can see and gets around with no trouble
whatsoever. She may go completely blind sometime
in the future, but our experience with blind dogs
is that they are still able to find their food
dish, their toys, or the door. You are just
somewhat limited about re-arranging the furniture!
We are seeking a forever
home for Aillie, who has defied all the
odds and has so much love to give.
